The Godbreaker

Garran Vehl hangs men cleanly and goes home alone. When he's ordered to escort a captured "angel" to Bastion-Constantinople, he does what he always does: the job. The thing in the cage glows, whispers, and heals. The city wants a miracle. The Inquisition wants answers. Garran wants to get paid and forget.

But belief is an appetite, and something is hungry enough to eat a city. When the blade that always ended things stops working, Garran must decide which is worse: a silent heaven, or a voice that answers anyone who asks.

The Godbreaker is a road story that ends in fire, and the moment a man learns what, exactly, his sword has been serving.
