A clerk's note on records and privacy
The Bureau has asked me to set this down in ordinary speech, without the usual ornament, so there can be no doubt about what is recorded and what is not. I have done so below.
What is recorded
- Citizen registration. When you register, we store your email address, the name you provided (if any), the date of registration, a hashed fingerprint of your IP address (for rate-limiting and abuse detection only), your browser user-agent, and your randomly-assigned Citizen Card fields (rank, bureau, province, citizen number). Your email is the primary key; the derived card fields are deterministic from it.
- Server logs. Firebase Hosting and Cloud Functions emit operational logs (request paths, status codes, timing) retained according to Firebase's default retention.
What is not recorded
- No tracking cookies. No third-party analytics. No advertising pixels.
- No plaintext IP addresses or geolocation.
- No payment information (commerce is not yet enabled).
How to be forgotten
Email bureau@age-of-heresy.example from the address you registered with, and ask to be removed. Your citizen record and any outstanding correspondence will be deleted within seven days.
