The Bastion Watch
The bell that requires a human answer
The Synod's civic Watch patrols markets and gates, answering bells other offices cannot reach. It uses shields, custody wagons, complaint boards, and copied records to stand between public danger and delayed superior authority.
Codex Ref. XII.3.01-001
The Ragged Host
Where the remainder learned to kneel and the kneeling learned to burn
The Ragged Host is the condemned mobile movement that treats unaddressed harm as a public charge before the Creator — poor, armed, improvised, and more dangerous than any mob because it keeps records.
Codex Ref. XII.9.02-001
The Shadow Detail
The Hand That Writes in Rooms That Do Not Appear on Floor Plans
The Shadow Detail is the Synod's deniable hinge: clerks, couriers, wagon hands, and forgers who control the availability of persons, records, and routes. It can save a witness in the gap before procedure becomes consequence — or make that witness permanently unreachable.
Codex Ref. VIII.8.03-001
Undertide Salvagers
Rope at the waist, question at the surface, and the useful blasphemy of checking before the office has finished lying
The Undertide Salvagers are the faction that descends when an office has declared a loss settled, a roster closed, and a body unrecoverable — and checks. Their central heresy is that checking is a form of prayer the Bureau cannot stamp.
